Police News
Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of 35-year-old, Ivor Hiliare of Bois Patat, Morne Dudon.

The shooting occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3. It is alleged that four armed mask men fired shots in the direction of Hiliare, hitting him in the abdomen.

Asher Stephen First Winner in LUCELEC's Facebook Promotion
Asher Stephen is the first winner in the LUCELEC Facebook Promotion that was launched on Tuesday October 25, 2014.

UN Committee Against Torture Urges for An Investigation Into Unarmed African American's Shooting
The U.N. Committee Against Torture urged the United States on Friday to fully investigate and prosecute police brutality and shootings of unarmed black youth and ensure that taser weapons are used sparingly.

The panel's first review of the U.S. record on preventing torture since 2006 followed racially-tinged unrest in cities across the country sparked by a Ferguson, Missouri grand jury's decision not to charge a white police officer for the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager.

MP Presses for Foreign Office Intervention on UK National's Murder Investigation
In news from the UK....The murder of a former Surrey man on a Caribbean island should be investigated by British police, an MP has said.

Oliver Gobat's body was found in a burnt out car on St Lucia in April. The 38-year-old had reportedly been set alight after being shot.

Seniors Cricket Festival Final Match Report
The tenth International Seniors Cricket Festival which bowled off here on March 24th, ended yesterday at the Beausejour Cricket Ground where the best of the English and Canada players came up against the best of the Trinidad and Saint Lucia players.

Batting first, the combined English & Canada Team totalled 170 for 6 from their 35 overs following an opening stand of 65 between Timothy Moult (42) and Farook Kermani (29), and then a fifth-wicket stand of 53 between Martin Downes (24) and Richard Moore (40 not out).
