St. Lucia to Observe International Men’s Day
The observance of International Men’s Day on Wednesday November 19th 2014 will be marked with an activity dubbed ‘A Celebration of Men,’ under the theme “Appreciating Men’s Leadership and Sacrifice for Family and Country”.

The event will take place at the Auditorium of the Wellness Centre on the Millennium Highway from 9:00a.m.  Men of all ages are invited to attend this special event, which is intended to recognize and celebrate the achievements of men and boys in St Lucia.

Ministry of Education Launches Investigation on Incident Involving a Female Teacher and 3 Male Students
A physical altercation involving a female teacher and three male students at the Clendon Mason Memorial Secondary School in Dennery continues to remain a serious cause for concern for a St Lucian gender and rights advocate.

Ms Felicia Browne who has been lobbying against bullying in schools and other issues that affect students at local learning institutions notes that any form of violence particularly in the school setting is alarming.

Interactive Private Sector Energy Fair Slated for this Weekend
Over ten local companies will join the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology in staging an interactive Private Sector Energy Fair on Saturday November 15, in commemoration of Energy Awareness Week 2014.

The event will expose the general public to the many energy efficient products and services which are available locally and the opportunities for huge financial savings from investments in renewable energy and energy efficient products. This will also be an opportunity for the public to be introduced to several new companies in the energy sector.

Authorities Asked to Explain Circumstances Surrounding the Shooting Death of Mentally Ill Man
A challenge has been issued to law enforcement officials to clear the air on the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a mentally ill man of Burceville Vieux Fort.

Claims from the family of Christopher Severin suggest that at least three shots were fired, one of which hit him in the back, while police were trying to apprehend him this week. But according to a police press statement the man was shot in the lower part of his body.

Swim Clinic Looms
The St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association and its members are in high gear preparation for an important FINA sponsored Officials Clinic that will be hosted in Saint Lucia on the week-end of 5th and 6th April 2014. 
 
There will be two FINA lecturers traveling to Saint Lucia to conduct this school:

Carol Zaleski , Chairman of the FINA Technical Swimming Committee (TSC) and
Søren Korbo, FINA TSC Honorary Secretary
