Twenty nine year old Kiran Herman of Bishop’s Gap, was stabbed by someone well-known to him at about 7:30 a.m.

Babonneau Man Arrested and Charged for Firearm Offenses
One man of Babonneau has been arrested and charged for firearm offenses.

Police report that about 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014, officers attached to the Babonneau Police Station had reason to stop and search the person of 38-year-old Nathan Mederick of Balata, Castries. A search was also carried out on his motor vehicle registration number PD 566.

Police News
Reports suggest that about 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 7th a Police Officer was driving his vehicle along the Mon Repos Highway when he sighted a male suspect wanted by the police.

The officer stopped his vehicle and proceeded towards the suspect who attempted to evade him by running into the nearby bushes. The officer gave chase and caught up with the suspect. He resisted arrest and physically assaulted the officer as well as attempted to disarm him.

Traffic Department Investigates Fatal Accident on the Bexon Highway
The Traffic Department of the Royal St Lucia Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal accident which occurred on the Bexon Highway about 7: 20 p.m. on Sunday, September 7th.

The accident involved a wrecker trailer driven by Omega Ettiene of La Grace, Laborie and a peddle cyclist named Stephen Joseph of Bexon. As a result of the impact, Joseph sustained serious injuries and were transported to Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Sports News at RCI St. Lucia

St. Lucia Volleyball Congress
The St. Lucia Volleyball Association held it’s Biennial Congress at the Bay Gardens Hotel, March 1, 2014 with the participation of seven (7) member clubs. Reported were the activities and success 2012 – 2013 with President Brian Louisy highlighting where hard work has taken the sport and the potential go even further.

Beach Volleyball, being the fastest growing sport in the world and the many successes St. Lucia has enjoyed over the years, gave rise to a special presentation highlighting the journey for qualification of teams to the CAC Games and the 2014 Youth Olympics. The congress spoke to the need to change the dynamic of how the various aspects of the association is run in order to hold the course it is on and to chart new courses for opportunity and success.
