Yachts Persons Required to Complete Immigration Card Upon Entry into Saint Lucia
The Government of Saint Lucia has advise that effective September 1, 2014, yachts persons will be required to complete an Immigration card upon entry into Saint Lucia.

This strategic move serves to position the Tourism Industry and Immigration Department to accurately account for yachting and stay-over arrivals and better serve the needs of tourists visiting the island.

 Esnard Family Petitions for Health Authority to Address Dire Situation at the Soufriere Hospital
The family of a Soufriere man who died following a stabbing incident in January this year, say they will stop at nothing until the relevant authorities take responsibility for the tragedy.

Ms Shaka Esnard who spoke to our newsdesk today recounted the ordeal which her brother Daniel Esnard went through after receiving what she described as shoddy medical treatment for a stab wound by personnel at the Soufriere Hospital.

NYC Comments on Latest Drug Smuggling Attempt
The latest attempt to smuggle illegal substances into one of the island’s lock up facilities has drawn reaction from the National Youth Council. Three teenage girls have been arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs and matches into the police custody suites at the Police Headquarters compound.

The incident occurred on Sunday, when the girls aged 16, 17 and 18, were visiting an inmate at the detention facility at about 4 p.m. A quantity of marijuana and matches were recovered during a routine search of the individuals.

Police Investigates Alleged Drowning at Pigeon Island
Sunday, August 10, 2014, officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station were in receipt of a report of an alleged drowning at Pigeon Island, Gros Islet and immediately summoned the Marine Unit.

Information suggests that 30-year-old Vaughn Khodra of Forestiere, Castries went swimming about 4:20 p.m. when his body became submerged. A search for Khodra ensued. About 6:56 p.m., Khodra was recovered and brought to shore where he was pronounced dead.
