McNaughton McLean has one of the most familiar voices on radio. After being at RCI for 15 years, he has earned the right to claim being radio royalty…that’s why he’s called “King”.

He wakes-up St. Lucia everyday so he’s got his pulse on what listeners need to start their day –
A dose of RCI’s splendid mix of music, news and important information and company with His Radio Highness (“If you can’t wake up with RCI, it’s not worth waking up at all”).
King’s versatility is on display everyday and King came to radio in 1986 after attending the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School. His days at the CCSS were filled with opportunities to developed his microphone technique so that when he started at RCI, shy but enthusiastic, the transition from novice to professional was intense and short.
Radio is not just a first love for King, it is his life and has opened horizons in other areas, for example, his interest in emerging technology, not just computers, audio engineering and sports.
In 1999 he was selected for the sports journalism programme at the International Olympic Academy in Greece and a year later spent three month with Japan’s national broadcast organization – NHK’s Training Institute where he specialized in TV production.
Apart from his work with RCI, his avid interest in sports, and a love affair with technology. King is the 4 th of a family of eight (7 brothers and 1 sister) and is the proud father of two: Thadya and Terrell.
